Dear letter reader,
People who come to my grief tending circles quickly realise that this is not a bereavement group.
And…
even though many of us may be grieving the loss of a loved one.
Grief spreads beyond that.
Grief is not only about loss, it’s also about longing.
It’s an ache that we hold in our hearts for what was or what could have been. Losses and longings located in our past, present and future.
We may grieve for the person we lost, and we may grieve for the person we were.
We may grieve for our younger selves, who didn’t have the support they needed to grow and thrive.
We may grieve and ache for our unfulfilled dreams and not reaching our full potential.
We may grieve for what we needed, but didn’t get.
We may be experiencing a sadness that doesn’t have a name.
Grief tending supports us to be with it all. To be able to face these deep sorrows in a way that reminds us that there is nothing to fix. That this is part of being human and there is nothing ‘wrong’ with us.
Grief needs somewhere to be held and witnessed.
I am opening up another Grief in nature experience in November and you and your grief would be so welcome.
If you or anyone you know would benefit from joining us all the details and booking are here.
Sending warm vibes
Leah
